ISO 22301 is an international standard for building and managing Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) in an organization. At an event of sudden and unprecedented disruption, for example, the recent Covid-19 pandemic, most of the organizations were caught unguard. Apart from facing major setbacks, some businesses also faced the risk of shutting down. The latest version of ISO 22301 was published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2019, and hence, it is written as ISO 22301:2019. As per ISO, the revision was made to make the standard more streamlined and practical. Organizations may shift to the new certification by 30 April, 2023.
